Name: Katiee Blog/Biz Name: Life Starts with Coffee
Describe yourself in 3 words: Powerful, Kind, Loving, Peaceful
Please tell us a bit about yourself!
I'm 23, a bunny mom, and a self proclaimed feminist. My biggest hobby for sure is going to concerts; alternative rock has been my safe place for many, many years. I get attached to fictional characters way too easily. I'm a Pisces, which has become a huge part of my identity as I've been studying to be an astrologer. I'm Reiki level one attuned, and work at a yoga studio. I eat a plant based diet, and believe that animals are just as important to this earth as we are. I think that love is the best thing we do.
When did you start Life Starts with Coffee and what inspired you to do so?
I started LSWC in 2015, and began as a money saving blog for college students. I just wanted a blog so that I could add more clips to my resume, but in time I realized my passion for feminism. Beyond that, I started to connect with other humans who felt the same way, and I realized that I could inspire others through the written word. I hope to one day make this a full time career, but even if I don't, I still can touch one person out there with my writing. That's all that really matters.
What is something you struggled with when you first started blogging?
Oh man, what isn't a struggle? They don't tell you that just setting up a blog is a LOT of time consuming work. There's so much technical stuff you have to know, and money you have to shell out. Apart from that, establishing yourself and your voice is so important. It took me really a couple years to come into my own there, and find a community.
What advice would you offer those aspiring to start their own biz/blog?
If you want it, go for it. You've got this. Find your niche, and write things that spark joy for you. Anyone can do it! It's about if you have that passion or not. Love yourself first, and the rest will come.
